I am a pretty lucky guy.I am a pretty lucky guy.

I have more opportunities than I could ever imagine, perhaps more than most people in this reality have recognized having for themselves in their entire lifetimes.

I am able to travel frequently.

All of my bills and debts are paid.

I am trusted and respected by my friends and colleagues.

I like who I am - I am honest, I trust my own judgment, I believe in my humanity.

Some personal relationships in my life have seemed to come full circle.

I am an activist and community organizer.I am an activist and community organizer.

I am the founder, chairman, and former executive director of Youth Empowerment America, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop sustainable organizing models for creating positive community change through the effective utilization of netroots and grassroots approaches. Youth Empowerment America provides skills training, consultation, planning and implementation services for community organizations, schools and civic groups whose programs directly engage young people in leadership, skill building, civic education and decision making capacities.

The values of Youth Empowerment America are:

  • We organize for broad diversity and all inclusiveness, bringing as many relevant perspectives into the thinking as possible.
  • We organize on the basis of vision, caring, and responsibility and not on the basis of anger or fear.
  • We organize to recruit ever more allies and not to identify enemies or attack or embarrass any so called opposition.
  • We organize to propose solutions and not to protest wrongs.
  • We organize for the common good and not for self interest.
  • We organize for completion and to win, not just be ethically or morally correct.
  • We organize with a shared commitment to struggle together for positive change. This struggle is threefold: personal, interpersonal and global.

I am an entrepreneur.I am an entrepreneur.

David currently owns and operates CompanyNameTV LLC, a new media firm that specializes in opensource web development , social networking distribution, producing high definition video content for the web and mobile devices, and alternative marketing campaigns (such as flash mobs and street marketing campaigns).

I am a web developer and designer.I am a web developer and designer.

I am an active contributor to the opensource drupal community. Rightly so, since I currently make the bulk of my living as a drupal consultant for various business and media clients.

The philosophy of opensource honors the values I had searched for in the many civil rights and social organization I worked with in my childhood and young adult life - but never found authentic. The opensource model, philosophy, and it's inherent values have vast transformative potential across many aspects of our society - and across human civilization. I hope to have the honor and opportunity to contribute significantly to many important, altruistic opensource endeavors.

I am a new media producer.I am a new media producer.

I believe "high definition video podcasts" represents the next best opportunity on the web. In a few years, the new media format of "5-minute long, weekly webisodes" will have as much cultural relevance and public consumption as television and cable sitcoms shows do today. I have five distinctive web shows in the pipeline - though it's been difficult to find hosts and actors for these shows.

I am single.I am single.

I need a girlfriend. All applications are currently being accepted. I'm a good guy, and I'm interesting enough, but I'm not quite sure how to go about dating. I think I have the tendency to intimate people in general, and if not that, I can be somewhat uncultured [untactful] and rough around the edges. A good candidate would be a girl who's witty, intellectual, playful, compassionate, not overly self-conscious, and pretty - most importantly, someone who has a sense of humor about themselves and everything else that reality has to throw at us. My life can get pretty serious (as it relates to my personal ambitions and the choices I make affecting others), but I would like to have a relationship where most of the space in it is filled with a simple, unconditional, joyful companionship - as such that it is able to strip away the general [and often superficial] anxieties that life presents to us. Outside of those spaces, I'd like to be in a relationship where it's worth working hard to have it.
